The greater Jackson Mississippi area is home to some of the best medical facilities in the south. From the area's only five star rated heart trauma hospital, St Dominics, to the patient friendly and much respected Baptist Hospital. River Oaks Hospital in Flowood is a much loved facility and Women's Hospital has long been the favorite medical facility for women's health issues. The Jackson located VA Hospital has been a veteran friendly facility for many years in the metro area. Jackson Mississippi is also home to the University Medical Center, one of the south's premier teaching facilities, and a place where many go to receive quality health care.
