With plenty of choices, area golf courses offer fun and entertertainment, regardless of the skill levels. Madison's Annandale hosts a PGA tour event every summer. Madison's Reunion has a championship course as well. For fun, you may want to try Whisper Lake golf course in Madison. This shorter course has a 64 par score. If you love Brandon or the Reservoir area, try out Bay Pointe Golf and Resort or Castlewoods Country Club. Both are built in the middle of subdivisions and are quite challenging. Watch out for the trees! The Refuge is a local favorite links style course located in Flowood. If you enjoy the links style, try out Patrick Farms Golf Club in Pearl,MS. This course is long. Sonny Guy Golf Course is a hometown favorite for Jacksonites. Colonial Country Club and Deerfield Country Clubs are sister sites. Both are outstanding courses to play and have long been desired golf locations. They are located in Jackson and in Canton. Another popular Jackson course is the exclusive Country Club of Jackson. This course is always in great condition and has a fantastic golf pro. Brookwood Country Club and Golf Course in south Jackson have new ownership and the course is in great shape. The prices are very competitive here. Canton Country Club has long been a local favorite course. Canton is located just north of Madison Mississippi. Canton also has a nine hole public course called the Links that is located next to an apartment complex also called the Links. Another good nine hole Jackson course is Lefluer's Bluff. Great to play if your time is limited. If you have a little more time and don't mind driving an hour or so, Hattiesburg has many outstanding courses, including two courses at Timberton, Shadow Ridge, Canebrake, and the Hattiesburg Country Club. Philadelphia has an outstanding course called Dancing Rabbit. While in Philadelphia after your round, get in a little gambling at the Pearl River Resort. Also you can try Vicksburg's Clear Creek or the Vicksburg Country Club for a challenging 18 holes.
